When a visitor sends an email or other communication to Rule14, Rule14 may retain those communications in order to process inquires, respond to requests, and improve Rule14's overall services. Affiliated Sites. Rule14 offers some of its services in connection with other websites. Personal information that a visitor provides to those sites may be sent to Rule14 in order to deliver the service. Rule14 processes such information in accordance with this Policy. The affiliated sites may have different privacy practices and policies and Rule14 encourages all visitors to read and familiarize themselves with the affiliated company's privacy policies.
Notice and Choice. To the extent permitted by the Safe Harbor Agreement, Rule14 reserves the right to process personal information in the course of providing professional services to Rule14's clients without the knowledge of individuals involved. Where Rule14 collects personal information directly from individuals in the European Union and Switzerland, Rule14 will inform them about the types of personal information Rule14 collects from them, the purposes for which Rule14 collects and uses such information, and the types of non-agent third parties to which Rule14 discloses that information. Rule14 will also inform those individuals about the choices and means, if any, Rule14 offers individuals for limiting the use or disclosure of their information.
Disclosure and Transfers. In general, Rule14 will not disclose any personally identifiable information except when Rule14 has permission under special circumstances, such as when Rule14 believes in good faith that the law requires it or under other circumstances outlined in this Policy. Rule14 may share information with governmental agencies or other companies assisting Rule14 in fraud prevention or investigation. Rule14 may do so when: (1) permitted or required by law; or, (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or, (3) investigating fraud which has already taken place. The information is not provided to these companies for marketing purposes. Permitted transfers of information, either to third parties or within Rule14, include the transfer of data from one jurisdiction to another, including transfers to and from the United States of America. Because privacy laws vary from one jurisdiction to another, personal information may be transferred to a jurisdiction where the laws provide less or different protection than the jurisdiction in which the personal information originated.
Data Integrity. Rule14 possesses personally identifiable information only in ways compatible with the purpose for which it was collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. To the extent necessary for such purposes, Rule14 take reasonable steps to make sure that personal information is accurate, complete, current and otherwise reliable with regard to its intended use.
Data Security. Rule14 takes reasonable steps to protect all personally identifiable information that Rule14 handle. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use and confidentiality of personally identifiable information, either for its own purposes or on behalf of Rule14's clients, Rule14 has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the personal information Rule14 possess. However, Rule14 cannot guarantee the security of personally identifiable information on or transmitted via the Internet.
Access and Correction. If an individual becomes aware that personally identifiable information Rule14 maintains about that individual is inaccurate, or if an individual would like to update or review his or her personal information, the individual may contact Rule14 using the contact information below. Rule14 will take reasonable steps to permit individuals to correct, amend, or delete personally identifiable information that is demonstrated to be inaccurate. The individual will need to provide sufficient identifying personal information, such as name, address, birth date, and social security number. Rule14 may request additional identifying personal information as a security precaution. Rule14 may limit or deny access to personally identifiable information where providing such access would be unreasonably burdensome or expensive in the circumstances, or as otherwise permitted by the Safe Harbor Agreement. In some circumstances, Rule14 may charge a reasonable fee, where warranted, for access to personally identifiable information.
Safe Harbor Compliance Rule14 complies with the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland.
